As we learned today, the Jewish Princes in Perek 7 of Bamidbar each offered the same sacrifice over a 12 day period. You are to take a side on the following position: Is it better that everyone made the same sacrifice or would it have been better if they were each different.
Your homework needs to be two paragraphs in length. Be sure to check your spelling and to look it over before you turn it in. It is due this Thursday.

I think that it was a mistake that all the tribes brout the same sacrifice, yes it would eliminate the arguments between tribes but each tribe loves god in a different way. If shimi's boyfriend gave her a box of chocolates shaped in a heart , her friend janna wouldn't also give her a box of heart shaped chocolates. the point is that people show affection in different ways because they are affectionate in different ways.
The tribes did have similar feelings to hashem, but I am sure each one was more thankful to one thing HaShem gave them. everyone is thankful for something but in their own special way.
I think that its good that everyone gave the same gift because if they didn’t some would be jealous. For example some tribes are smaller than others so the smaller tribe can only afford so much and the bigger tribe can afford a lot more because they have more people. If the bigger tribe gives a better gift than the smaller tribe than there is a chance G-d could like the bigger tribe better because they gave a better gift. Then the smaller tribes would get the short end of the stick.
Also if they all gave different gifts and G-d didn’t tell them what to give (for example not in the olden but in today). Yehudah could give G-d spaghetti and Reuven could give G-d rice but G-d didn’t want rice he wanted spaghetti so then G-d would be unhappy and who knows what he would do. (we all know about the flood)
I think that it was good that everyone brought the same stuff to sacrifice. If everyone brought differently then Hashem might like one better than the other. If you LOVE spagetti then you would want it every day, wouldn't you? Hashem just loves this sacrafice.
Also, this goes to even before this time in the torah, to Cain and Aible. Hashem liked one of the brother's sacrafices better than the other, so he let fire eat the other sacrafice. It is good it is all the same because Hashem likes what they gave to him, so he always accepts the sacrafice. I would think being rejected by Hashem would be taken very harshly. This is what I think.

I do not think that it was a good idea for everyone to bring the same present for G-d. Unless they know Hashems absolute favorite gift, they shouldnt give him the same thing again and again and again. That is like someone giving you the same exact game again and again and again. Would you like having 10 copies of Madden 09 or Sims 2. Also, would you like to have the smell of lemons in your head all day and night. I know that i would not like that and i would eventually like to switch to vanilla or strawberry.
Hashem appreciates every gift that the Jewish people give him but that is like your parents giving you a hamburger for dinner every single night. The Jewish people need to express their relationship to Hashem in more unique ways. I do not love Hashem the same way as anyone else. I love him in my own special way and I would probably sacrifice a basketball or a football to him because those are things that are very important and "good" to me. Hashem knows that i love those things and coming from me, knowing that I love those things and that it is a big loss for me to lose them.
