Making A Midrash - Homework

Please write, in at least three complete sentences, how you think Moshe reacted to Hashem's punishment for hitting the rock in Perek 20 of Bamidbar. What would he say, do, or argue after hearing that he would not go into the promised land.

Please have your midrash posted or brought to class to receive credit.

When Moshe heard the punishment that he could not go in the land of Israel he right away started to argue. Moses said to G-d this is so not fair! I just wanted the best for the Jewish people! I just wanted them to have water. I thought it would come out faster if I hit the rock harder!

After begin told that him and his people weren't going to their promised land I am sure that Moshe was very angry with himself!I think that he would first go to the children of Israel and apologize. Then, I think that he would apologize to Hashem for arguing with him. If none of that worked, I think that he would just except the fact that he made a huge mistake and try to make it up by doing whatever Hashem asked him to do for the rest of the journey.

I think Moshe would have argued. If I were Moshe I would have fallen on my face and screamed until I lost my voice. Why would have come all this way not to go to Bnai Yisrael!

I think when G-d told Moses the punishment he probably put up a fight and told G-d how unfair it is. Also, maybe Aaron tried to do something else to try and change G-ds mind but not in a violent or mean way because Aaron seems to be the mature one. Also, Moses probably begged and begged and begged for a second chance.

i believe that when G-D told Moshe he probably fell on his face (gee what a surprise he's never done that before) and thought WHAT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! And then he was probably like wait if i be really good and suck up to G-D he'll probably lift it. im so smart. so the next day he was like hey G-D you look great today i really like your and then G-D was all like yeah moshe guess what it's not working. And moshe said what do you mean. and G-D said moshe seriously stop lying. So moshe gave up and said G-D im sorry but come on man i i i i i just wanna go to the promised land is that too much to ask after leading these whiney little guys through the desert for an entire 40 years? so G-D said yeah it is. And moshe said seriously why. and G-D said well moshe i cant just let you off the hook for this i mean i dont want the guys thinkin im a softie. but this is a little too harsh dont you think? well this is also punishment A. for lying to me B. for arguing and C. cause you seriously hurt that rocks feeling. So moshe thought (sigh) fine i guess if you really want to put it like that i do kinda deserve this. but wait i still get to go to the promised land when moshiach comes right? I dont really know well just have to cross that sea of reeds when we come to it. Moshe (rolling his eyes) said have you always got to make jokes about that
