Homework # 5

So, after reading about Jacob's awakening, that he slept through Gd's personal message to him, please share a time that you realized that something special was happening only after it happened. It should be at least three sentences long and in complete sentences.

Thank you!

I realized something special was happening only after it happened when I was playing a soccer game and knew I was about to score. This was the first (and only) soccer game that I have ever played and it made me feel very good. I didn't realize what I did until after it had happened because only after the goal did I realize what a great accomplishment it was.

Once a pon a time Davd L. the POTATO (patington!!!)was eating latkes(it fits the season!!) and I relized that my dad the asparagus was talking to a person saying that we were going to say birkat hamazon soon and I still needed desert and so I took the cookies outside and ate them so I could say the blessing since I didn't do hamotzie. Buuut I did't know my dad was telling a story about his dream and so when the real desert came I didn't get any spinach pie and so I almost exploded into tears like when the patach files exploded when "person" (not saying linzi) tipped it over and I almost was seen by the neighbors cat but I didn't and I lived happily ever after.......Until we played dreidel and I got tons of chocolate and couldn't eat it because I was full,

I realized that my bat mitzvah was really special after the fact. I realized it was special before i got up there but after i got off of the bimah and people were giving speeches to me i realized that it was way more important than i had originally thought. I am glad i realized it then and not WAY after but it was still afterward.

I've been to many bar and bat miztvahs. At first when I go to them I don't think they are that special. But when I leave I realeive that that person is now an adult and part of the jewish community and I can't wait until I become part of the jewish community too.

I really dont remember that many times like that but heres one...
Once one day I lost my tooth. This was only about uhh... one year ago. And the next morning my mom came into my room at like 5:45 which she usualy doesn't do this early. And so she came in and I said"why are you coming in?" and she said "just to say morn'n." So I said okay. Then she came over and huged my and left. About 10 min. later, I was thinking to myself that that was pretty weird. Then I remembered that I lost my tooth yesterday. So I looked under my pillow where I saw a dollar. Then I relized that when she was huging me her hand was close to my pillow so she must have given me the dollar then. I then asked her 6 months later about it and she said I was right.

A time when something special happened but I only knew after it happened- that is easy. My grandmother was a wonderful, kind, funny woman whom I loved very much. I just supposed, as most nine-year-olds do, that Grandma would always be there. But in 2006, just one week before New Year’s, she died. We were planning on going to visit her very soon, and I thought we’d see her for sure. She passed away, and now I realize that I didn’t know how special she was until she was gone. The same occurred with my first dog, and as a six-year-old, I thiught he’d always be there. But I guess some things in life go unnoticed until they’re gone.

Once I was walking and I saw a little bit of snow. The snow got heavier throughout the night. In the morning there was so much snow that school was canceled. I never thought that one little flake would amount to anything but it definitely did.

Well i'm sure many people have many different answers but mine is during Hanukah. That is because when I a opening presents all I think about is the fact that I am getting a gift that I want. I always have to be told to thank the people that gave me the gift. It really is not nice at all and I hope that this year will be different for me and I will thank the peple without even being asked to.

Once the kolel rabbis asked me to usher a movie. I didn't want to. I ushered it. My mom told me I did a verry good job. I'm happy that I did it.

Every time I have my dance recitals I am so nervous. I get out there and do my best. I only know how good I am when my family tells me so. Those are time when I don’t know I did well until after.
